2010-04-19 - Goodbye Winter, Hello Sneezes!

The weather in Northern Arizona is finally becoming favorable for being outdoors. We got an incredible season total snowfall of 141.9 inches!! There's water everywhere and creeks are flowing like rivers. Unfortunately, this abundance of water seems to be worsening the seasonal allergies.

Oak Creek or Oak River?

But the frequent sniffling and sneezing isn't keeping me from having fun outside! Not all of the trails in Flag are dry enough for mountain biking, but it shouldn't be long before they dry up. In the meantime, there's always Sedona.

In fact, I went to Sedona for a ride today, but I forgot my riding shoes at home. Wearing flipflops and not bringing a pair of regular shoes, I couldn't even go for a hike. No big deal.

Jerome

The BMW has been great, and I've put on 600 miles in a month. I need to name her. I rode to Wupatki National Monument, Sedona, Snowbowl Road, and Mingus Mountain just past Jerome. After the first oil change which is due soon, I hope to do a full day trip somewhere.

Wet Beaver Hike

What else.... I went on a three mile hike to Wet Beaver Creek. I went to Tucson for the Overland Expo 2010, which photos can be found here. Work has been great. I can't wait to ride the trails soon!
